The Porsche 917K is a legendary icon of automotive and motorsport history. First introduced in 1969, this racing car quickly became a symbol of power, performance and exceptional engineering.

Considered one of the most iconic racing cars of all time. It was Porsche's first victory in the world's most grueling race, and set an impressive record for dominance in the world's longest-running prototype series.

The Porsche 917K was remarkably fast and powerful. Chief engineer Hans Mezger, under the direction of Ferdinand Piëch and Helmuth Bott, designed the engine. Power came from a new 4.5-liter air-cooled engine, also designed by Mezger. Its immense power made driving it perilous at high speeds, prompting engineers to reposition the body higher at the rear to provide stability.

In competition, the Porsche 917K was a resounding success. It won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1970 and 1971, securing its place in motorsport history. Its speed, agility and reliability made it the preferred choice of racing teams and drivers of the day.

Each creation begins with a phase of research and documentation on the model, its origins and designer, as well as its technical aspects.

The canvas features a drawing of the Porsche 908, which served as the basis for the development of the 917, as well as a number of technical drawings illustrating the cutting-edge engineering of the tubular aluminum chassis and the Flat 12 developed by Hans Mezger. The famous Concorde represents the cutting-edge innovation of those years, which is why the artist chose to draw it.

The artist has developed a unique method of telling the story of the creation of these mechanical objects through drawing and watercolor painting.

His distinctive style subtly blends the technical precision of the ballpoint pen, one of the designer's signature instruments, with the soft, fluid colors of watercolor.
