The Porsche 917K is a legendary icon in the history of automotive and motor sport. Introduced for the first time in 1969, this racing car quickly became a symbol of power, performance and exceptional engineering

Considered one of the most emblematic racing cars of all time. It was she who allowed Porsche to win her first victory in the most trying race in the world, she set an impressive record for domination in the series of prototype races that the world has ever known.

The Porsche 917K was remarkably fast and powerful. Head engineer Hans Mezger, under the direction of Ferdinand Piëch and Helmuth Bott, designed the engine. The power comes from a new 4.5 -liter engine cooled by air, also designed by Mezger. Its immense power makes its conduct perilous at high speed, which encourages engineers to reposition the higher body at the rear to bring stability.

In competition, the Porsche 917K was a resounding success. She won victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and 1971, thus ensuring her place in the history of motorsport. Its speed, agility and reliability made it a privileged choice of racing teams and renowned pilots of the time.

Each creation begins with a phase of research and of documentation On the model, its origins, her designate but also on the aspect technical.

We find on the canvas a drawing of the Porsche 908 which served as the basis for the development of the 917 as well as some technical drawings which illustrates the cutting edge of the aluminum tubular chassis as well as the flat 12 developed not hans mezger. The famous Concorde represents the advanced innovation of these years, which is why the artist has chosen to draw it.

The artist has developed a unique method to tell the story of the creation of these mechanical objects through drawing and watercolor painting.

His distinctive style mixes with subtlety the technical precision of the ball pen, which is one of the emblematic instruments of designers, with the softness and fluidity of the colors of the watercolor.

Each work is certified by a punch Signed "Lerailler Gallery"
