STORY

The Ferrari F40, introduced in 1987, is much more than just a sports car; it is a true icon of automotive engineering, often considered one of the greatest supercars of all time. It was designed to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary, and is also the last car developed under the direct supervision of Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988.

The F40 was designed by Pininfarina, with a sleek and aggressive design, perfectly symbolizing the raw power it contained. The chassis was made from a mixture of Kevlar, carbon fiber and aluminum, allowing for extreme rigidity while keeping weight low. The body, with its sharp lines and distinctive rear wing, has become iconic.

CREATION PROCESS

Each creation begins with a phase of research and documentation on the model, its origins , its designer but also on the technical aspect.

On the web we find a drawing of the Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione which served as the basis for the development of the F40 as well as some technical drawings which illustrate the cutting-edge engineering developed by engineer Nicolas Materazzi.

The artist developed a unique method of telling the story of the creation of these mechanical objects through drawing and watercolor painting.

His distinctive style subtly blends the technical precision of the ballpoint pen stroke, which is one of the iconic instruments of designers, with the softness and fluidity of watercolor colors.

Each work is certified by a hallmark signed "Lerailler Gallery"
